MODEL GDW-01
HEDLEY HIGHVOLT
The one that started it all. Inspired by British motorcycles of the 1930s, this was my first electric bike build, from 2013. It combines new materials, custom designs, found objects, and vintage parts into a single, original machine.
The base frame comes from a gas-powered bicycle, onto which I added a hand-crafted wooden battery and control box. Custom aluminum fork spats were designed to hold the headlight, while front and rear fender plates complete the look. The skirt and chain guard are salvaged from a 1930s Elgin girl’s bike, and the rear light comes from a BMW-style Ural motorcycle sidecar.
Every detail of this bike tells a story: Bridging past and present in a modern tribute to classic British design.
